Little Prelude LLC (“Little Prelude,” “we,” or “us”) is a musician-led childcare agency based in New York City. This policy explains what information we collect through littleprelude.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
We have tried to write this in plain language rather than legal boilerplate. If anything here is unclear, please write to us and ask.
Our waitlist form asks for your name, email address, your neighborhood, your children’s ages, and anything else you choose to tell us. Only your name and email are required.
Our application form asks for your name, email address, phone number, instrument or discipline, neighborhood, training background, childcare experience, a link to your résumé or portfolio, and why you are interested in this work.
We ask for children’s ages so that we can propose a caregiver suited to your family. We collect this information from you, the parent or guardian — never from a child directly. Our website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Please share only what is necessary. You do not need to give us your children’s full names, schools, or any health information through the website.
We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, advertising networks, or website analytics. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we cannot see which pages you read. Nothing on this site follows you across the internet.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing companies, and we will not add you to any mailing list you did not ask to join.
We use a small number of established service providers to run this website. Each of them handles your information only in order to provide their service to us:
When we propose a caregiver to your family, we share only what that person needs in order to decide whether they are a good fit — typically your neighborhood, your schedule, and your children’s ages. Every artist in our community has agreed to keep family information confidential.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to protect a child from harm.
We keep waitlist and inquiry information for as long as you are a prospective or current family, and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we can pick up where we left off if you return. We keep artist applications for the duration of our review and, for candidates we would like to revisit, for up to two years.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we will do so, except where we are required to keep records for legal or accounting reasons.
Write to hello@littleprelude.com and we will:
You do not need to give a reason, and asking will never affect how we treat you.
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us, including serving this website over an encrypted connection and limiting access to inquiries. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send us sensitive documents through the website. If we need something confidential, we will arrange a secure way to receive it.
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and we hold your information, we will tell you directly.
