What We Offer

Work that fits around your career, not against it.

You set your rates

You decide what your time is worth and agree it directly with each family. We never set your rate. Payment runs through our booking platform, and your referral fee is settled there automatically, so you are paid promptly and never have to chase an invoice.

Your schedule is your own

Take the audition. Go on tour. You choose which families to take on, when you are available, and how you work. We do not assign jobs and we do not set schedules.

Qualified families

We send you families who have been screened and who are looking for exactly what you do. No cold leads, no bidding against other sitters, no competing on price.

Community

Fellow artists and performance opportunities at family events. Working independently does not have to mean working alone.

Who We’re Looking For

Our standards are high on both sides.

We list artists who are kind, dependable, and genuinely excellent with children. You must care as deeply about children as you do about your art.

We accept only a small fraction of the artists who apply.

  • Professional training or experience in music or the performing arts
  • Real childcare experience, with references we can call
  • Warmth, reliability, and patience
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, with documentation
  • General liability insurance naming Little Prelude as an additional insured
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. and willingness to complete a background check
How Listing Works

Independent, and listed with us.

Artists in our network are independent providers, not employees. You run your own practice. What we offer is introductions to families who have already been screened, and what you pay for is that introduction.

A referral fee that falls the longer you stay

There is no listing fee and nothing to pay up front. You pay a referral fee on what you earn from families we introduce you to, settled through the platform as each booking is paid. It is 20% for your first year listed with us, and 15% from your second year onward, across every family, for as long as you stay. If you do not work, you pay us nothing.

What we need before we can list you

Proof of current CPR and First Aid certification, a completed background check, and a general liability insurance policy naming Little Prelude as an additional insured. All three must stay current for as long as you are listed.

Annual renewal

You renew your listing once a year and resubmit your certification and insurance documents, so that everything on file stays current.

Current certification is required before you can be listed. It does not have to be in place to apply.
