For Artists

You spent years mastering
your craft. Your work
should honor that.

Little Prelude hires professional musicians and performing artists who love children, and pays them fairly for work that matters.

What We Offer

Work built around your career, not against it.

Fair, transparent pay

Premium rates that respect your training. You will know exactly what a placement pays before you accept it, and there is no race to the bottom here.

Flexibility that protects your art

Set your own availability. Take the audition. Go on tour. Your career comes first and we build around it, because an agency that costs you your art is not worth joining.

Meaningful work

You will not just be supervising. You will be the reason a child claps in rhythm, asks about the cello, or sings the whole walk home.

Community

Fellow artists, professional development, and performance opportunities at family events. You will not be freelancing alone.

Who We’re Looking For

Our standards are high on both sides.

We hire artists who are kind, dependable, and genuinely excellent with children. You must care as deeply about children as you do about your art. If that sounds like a high bar, it is, and it is the reason families trust us.

We accept only a small fraction of the artists who apply.

  • Professional training or experience in music or the performing arts
  • Real childcare experience, with references we can call
  • Warmth, reliability, and patience
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it — we will help
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. and willingness to complete a background check
