Complete a short inquiry telling us about your children, your schedule, and what matters most to you. From specified needs to the instruments your child is curious about.
There is no algorithm here and no database to search.
Taylor reviews every inquiry and proposes one to three artists suited to your family, and passes on their details. Because our network is small and every artist has been met in person, matching is a judgment about people rather than a filter on a list.
From there you contact them directly.
You will meet your proposed caregiver, with your children, before any care begins. Chemistry matters more than any résumé, and children are usually the better judge of it.
If it isn’t right, we introduce you to someone else. There is no awkwardness in saying so.
You and your artist agree rates, schedule and terms between you. Little Prelude’s role ends at the introduction.
Recurring care, occasional evenings, after-school support: whatever you and your artist arrange between you. Many of the artists we list send a Musical Moment after a visit, a short note about something musical that happened that day.
Over time, many families add music lessons with the caregiver their child already adores. It is the most natural way a child ever learns an instrument.
We accept only a small fraction of the artists who apply. Before anyone is proposed to a family, they have cleared all of the following.
If your child is unwell, tell us as early as you can and we will reschedule. Children get sick. It is the most normal thing in the world, and you will never feel awkward telling us.
We will also be straightforward about why we ask. The artists we list are working musicians. A cold that costs most people a groggy afternoon can cost a singer a run of performances or a wind player a recording session. Their livelihood lives in their body, so we are more careful here than a typical agency. Protecting the artists we list is part of how we keep the network this good.
That does not make us rigid. Many artists are glad to work through a mild cold, and some choose to wear a mask while they do. If yours arrives in one, read it as care rather than distance: it means they wanted to be there. No artist is judged for protecting their health, and no family is judged for having a sick child at home.
